LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER
My name is Troy Baker
I'm a wedding, event and portrait photographer living in Little Rock, Arkansas. I have been in the art of Photography for 45 plus years, I started primarily as a Photojournalist with the Arkansas State Press under the ownership of Janis Kearney that was created by Mrs. Daisy Bates as well as she was President of the NAACP in Little Rock in 1957.

LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHERDuring my coverage of an MLK Event, I was provided the opportunity to meet Lou Gossett Jr. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer breakfast in 2023 but unfortunately he met his demise in 2024, Lou Gossett was a man of great integrity and very personable, I was also blessed with the opportunity to meet and befriend Mrs. Daisy Bates, I truly admired her courage and compassion for others and especially their children.

LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER I am currently the Portrait Photographer for "The Arkansas Black Hall of Fame", I have 45 years plus years of experience. I started as a Photojournalist with the Arkansas State Press Newspaper, Mrs. Daisy Bates assisted the Little Rock Nine with integrating Little Rock Central High in 1957, along with her husband L.C. Bates founded the Arkansas State Press Newspaper. The group picture was from Mrs. Daisy Bates and the dignitaries at the Bethune-Cookman Awards Banquet in Washington DC . Mrs. Bates was presented an Award that year.

LET'S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER Mrs. Daisy Bates was a woman of great compassion and truly loved children; even though she never birthed any of her own. Mrs. Bates provided me my greatest opportunity in my Photography career by allowing me to be her personal Photographer. Mrs. Bates even in her Golden years would do anything for any organization that advocated for children, I was with her many times when she would pick up the phone and make calls for calling to get funding for youth organizations in need of funds, Mrs. Bates was a brave and courageous woman. woman.
